Apple is an American company headquartered in California. The company develops, designs sells computer software and products. We are here to give you an overview of how Apple interviews potential employees. The interview process of Apple is different from many big companies. After reading this article you will have a clear picture of what things and skills set you to need to pass the whole interview process. So let’s begin.

The Apple interview process is the same for most of the positions offered by Apple, whether its business analyst or a team player needed for SIRI maps, calendars, etc.

Apple Interview Process For Hiring

In the apple interview process, there are several steps that you should think of before giving the interview. The first is to have a resume that mimics you. You can take online help to make your resume more presentable. Second: You should know at least one programming language and should have mastery in it. You can pick any of the following languages: C/C++, C#, Java, Python, etc. Third are the communication skills so that you can tell them your worthiness without any hustle and Fourth: some familiarity with Apple interview questions, which is a part of your preparation Strategy.

There are four stages:

Stage 1: Making the connection

The process will start when they have your resume. Either they will approach you, or vice versa. You have to maintain a properly updated LinkedIn account so that you are visible to the recruiters. For the latter part, you have to visit Apple’s recruiting portal and fill-up the form and submit your resume there.

Stage 2: Interview on Call

Now, if your resume gets selected, great news. They will contact you via email or call you to schedule a specific date and time for the next stage process. In Stage 2, there will be a phone interview that will be divided into two parts.

The first part consists of a non-technical interview, which will last for 20-30 minutes. The recruiter will ask you basic questions based on your resume. The best preparation strategy for this is to go through your resume and find out how your present skill is beneficial to the role you are applying to.

Questions:
  • What are your hobbies?
  • What are your strengths and weaknesses?
  • Tell us about the most challenging project you did in the last company?
  • Which mobile phone do you use? Why did/didn’t you choose Apple?
  • Are you comfortable in night shifts?

After the interview, the recruiter will contact you in 1-2 days if the team decides to consider you for the next challenge.

Stage 3: The ON-SITE Exercises

Once you pass the phone call interview, the recruiter will invite you to the Apple office. 8-16 people will be summoned for these exercises. There will be three important tasks in which you have to excel.

The first one is called "Apple Group Exercise''. Here they will put you in a team of Apple employees and your team will be given a problem which you have to solve in a limited time. Your teammates will be the actual employees of Apple so all you need is to impress them with your skills and presence of mind. Each employee will assess you closely so try to provide effective solutions with a good explanation for it. You have to influence them why your way of solving it is the right path but if they tell you a better solution for that, consider that also.

Second: Apple Written Test

A test will be given to you just to check your response time. The questions will be easy and moderate level. It will check your reasoning skills to answer an argument. Try to deliver the test on time even if you have to skip some arguments.

Third: Apple Role Play Exercise

This is the most interesting part of the Apple interview process. In this exercise, the role of Apple employees will be given to you and you have to talk to a client who is an employee of Apple. This is the test of skills based on three C's. Communication Skills, Convincing Skills, and Commercial Awareness.

Stage 4: The Interview

Once your Exercises are over, the final interview will take place. This interview will be taken by the director or senior manager or head of the domain you have chosen. This is the most important stage of all the processes. You have to display your knowledge and enthusiasm to the person who will be your leader in the future.

The interview will be like this:

  • A normal talk to know each other
  • Questions about your education
  • Why have you chosen this domain?

The time duration for the interview will be 30 minutes. If they decide to hire you, the recruiter will contact you and inform you about your selection. Apple OnSite interview response time is 2-3 weeks. If you are selected, Congratulations. Now you can discuss the pay, job location, perks and benefits, and so forth. The whole process may take 1-2 months.

Things to remember:
  • Master your coding Skills.
  • Stay updated with the Apple products launch.
  • Read some other tech giants interview questions like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, etc.
  • Make sure you know all the things you have written in your resume.
  • Make detailed notes of the problems and challenges you have solved and faced in your previous companies.
  • You should know about your domain much better than any other candidate. If you have selected iOS as your domain, you should know everything about the Operating System.

The questions are always evolving. So don’t memorize the answer. Instead, focus on the fundamentals, coding part, and enhance knowledge on your selected domain.
