Above Poverty Line

APL full form is Above Poverty Line. The Poverty Line is the line that indicates whether an individual or a family as a whole is facing any challenges like poverty, hunger, medicines, clothes, etc. Those who can afford these utilities come in the “Above Poverty Line” index and those who can’t afford these things come under the “Below Poverty Line”. Some above the poverty line category people have APL ration cards from the state government under the public distribution system department.

According to the World Poverty Clock, India has managed to move 271 million people out of poverty in 10 years time duration from 2005/2006 to 2015/2016.
