All India Council for Technical Education

Established in November 1945, the national-level statutory body, All India Council for Technical Education is AICTE full form. The council falls under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development. Initially, it was an advisory body and got the status of a statutory body in 1987 with the implementation of an Act of Parliament. It undertakes the work of the development of the technical and management education system in India. AICTE also accredits universities, colleges and set a standard of education. It has offices at various locations like Kolkata, Chandigarh, Vadodara, Guwahati, Bhopal, Bangalore, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram. The full form of AICTE is widely used in government exams.
