What is the meaning of "enctype= multipart/form-data" ?

HTML forms provide three methods of encoding.

• application/x-www-form-urlencoded (the default)
• multipart/form-data
• text/plain

multipart/form-data

This is used to upload files to the server. It means no characters will be encoded. So It is used when a form requires binary data, like the contents of a file, to be uploaded.
