It is always suggested to go through your company’s portal and salary structure before going to the promotion interview. If you have a good insight about the increments in promotion then you can ask for the raise accordingly. Otherwise, you can ask them the percentage as per your convenience or the company standards, depending upon your choice.

There is no issue or negative impact in asking for the raise or expecting a higher percentage until and unless the company’s budget is too low.
