In this room, how many basketballs can you fit?
Example: Find out how big the room is. A room that is 10 feet by 10 feet by 10 feet, for instance, has a volume of 1000 ft cubed. The typical men's basketball is 25 centimeters in diameter. A foot is around thirty centimeters in length. Therefore, a one-foot cubed room could accommodate one inflated basketball. Therefore, a space with a volume of 1000 feet cubed could hold 1000 inflated basketballs. We could fit 12 flattened basketballs into a 1-foot cubed space if we can deflate the balls and compress them to a thickness of one inch. As a result, 12,000 basketballs may fit in a space that is 1000 cubic feet in volume. Depending on the arrangement of the room, it might be more difficult, but the method for solving it would remain the same.
