Indian Engineering Services

IES full form is Indian Engineering Service which is a Group A and Group B service that handles the technical pillar of the Government of India that includes Infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, railways, roads, waterways defense, power, telecommunication, public works, etc. This exam is conducted every year by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) under the All India Services Act 1951.

A candidate has to go through 3 stages: 1) an Objective Exam, 2)Subjective Exam, and 3) a Personality Test. Candidate who is pursuing Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering are eligible to apply for this service. The selected candidates are appointed directly by the President of India and serve in ministries and headquarters in the Capital or other big cities.
